Hi, I'm Kate.
Welcome to my blog.
I’m thrilled you've found yourself here — I have so much to share with you.
I'm a marketing manager gone rogue, a mom of three very different children and a woman who lucked into exactly the right marriage. An expert on mothering and life - I am not (that will become clear to you quickly), but I'll share my real with you if you promise to bring your own. I invite you to join me on this journey and we'll figure it out as we go.
Go ahead, make yourself at home!
So, what do you want to know about me?
My number one driver in life is my family. My husband and I met in south Georgia, where we both attended college. We fell in love instantly, dated for all of two months, then split to experience the right of passage that is the college dating scene. We found each other again sophomore year (it wasn't hard - we ran in the same circles), then proceeded to date for several more years. Fast-forward to 2010 - we get hitched. Babies came along a few years later, one right after another. And now, here we are, in the midst of surviving toddlerhood times three.
I'm a creative at heart, but I've found myself in the very analytical world of marketing for the past 10 years. I love the psychology of marketing, the art of communication.
My career niche is connecting the dots. I do my best work in matrixed organizations where communication across teams is essential, and I live for trying new things.
Fashion, art, blogging... I diversify my hobbies the way a Wall-Streeter diversifies her portfolio. I've never bought into the belief that people can't be creative and analytical, or fashionable and artsy. Or female and a Wall-Streeter. As I get older, I've learned to embrace this idea of diversification. And as I focus on the things I love - my family, art, shopping - things are beginning to fall into place.
